Cleaning Your Appliance
Clean your appliance as instructed by your doctor and assistant.
Brush your appliance as a part of your regular brushing and flossing schedule. Because food particles and plaque can accumulate on your appliance just as they do on your teeth, cleaning regularly is advised. If food is stuck in areas that are difficult to access with your toothbrush, consider rinsing with water or using a water flosser to help with this. Ask your doctor if you have any questions on how to properly clean with an appliance.
If you have a removable appliance, you can use an appliance cleaner such as Retainer Brite to clean them periodically. Cleaning your appliance will prevent plaque and accumulation of bacteria.
